The Four Tribes of Elves
One Red, One Emerald, One Gold, One Silver
One Red, One Emerald, One Gold, One Silver
Before the scar of mankind crossed the white-sanded shores of the Heartland and battled their way like a spider's web to the mainland, there were only elves and dwarves in the Heartland. Before men came and killed, slaughtered and burned the peace of the hills and valleys away all that was green stood under the ownership of the Four Tribes of Elves. The Arvendi of the northern coldlands, the Kadipians of the forests and farms, the Wagions of the south deserts and the Scripton of the east. These four tribes stood in unity with one another, their customs different yet their loyalty stronger than steel.
Red
The Arvendi, fierce warriors and strict teachers, were known for their discipline and military conduct. While every tribe held their own in the fierce ways of war, it was the Arvendi elves whose lifestyle was most accustomed to the field of battle. They defended the northern boarders of their homeland from while beasts and rouge peoples, their bodies not bothered by the bitter winds and the bloodlust of war. Their armors of silver and red flashed in the snow and rains as their enemies fled the echo of their horns. They were the fiercest of the elven tribes, rivaled only by their brother tribe, the Wagions of the south.

Emerald
The Kidipian elves, light and considered to be wild and uncultured by their brethren tribes. They could be found about the forests, rivers, valleys and marshes of the Heartland, constantly moving. They were known for their music and rather hearty attitudes. Those who were less rowdy amongst them settled down and farmed the land, holding large feasts and gallant parties with no limit to guests. Yet even with their outgoing ways and amusing tendencies, these elves were just as formidable enemies as their Arvendi companions.

Gold
The Wagion tribe was one of the most unique of the elves. Silent and roaming, they kept to their desert towns and family gatherings. Strangers were not welcome among them lightly and were known to be nomads, constantly herding their animals towards new waters and finding better living areas in the hot temperatures. They kept to themselves, training themselves to be vigilant and keen. They could take down predators alone and often, due to their harsh lands and while they conversed with their other brethren, they were wary of all who they did not know well.
Silver
In the invasion of the men it was the Scriptons who were first to be slaughtered, as they dwelled closest to the sea. They were the more learned of the elves, genius in various arts and writers of wondrous tales and glories. As was the custom among the tribes, the new adults would sometimes wander to that tribe that matched their own desires and interests. This was not common, but sometimes and elf would deem himself to find a better life amongst another tribe. While many elves enjoyed songs and poems, the Scriptons were a small tribe, not mighty in arms but great in wit. Most elves wanted adventure or simply to be with those they knew and the Scriptons did not travel much nor did they happily find contentment in conflict. Because of this they were wiped out during the invasion, despite their trained swords and bows that were used well.
The Dwarves of Kraton
Isle So Far Away
Not much can be said of the dwarves, except that they are mysterious race of crafters, rarely seen in the Heartland and completely a race of their own. While they pop up every now and then to aid certain persons or to give advice, they disappear quickly and prefer to remain unseen. It was so even before the invasion of the men upon the elven tribes and afterwards they became all but extinct to the Heartland. The elves believed that they fled to the peace and quiet life of the Isle of Kraton, in the eastern seas of the Heartland. It is said that they guard something upon their island that none can comprehend and that must be protected. However the elves did keep track of some of these creatures as they exposed themselves at times.
Brond was the name of one of the creators of the Soul Blade, along with his brothers Kroft and Drena, but they soon vanished after the completion of the blade. But are there more dwarves in the Heartland, simply hiding? Perhaps, but for now it remains unknown.
