Deimos
Elf
Born to the elves, enslaved among men, Deimos is a bitter and unhappy image of an elf. All his life he has grown under the cruelty of his masters and in the isolation of being the only one of his race. Never meeting another elf, never knowing who his family was nor how he came to be under the rule of man has left him hating and without trust for any being he comes across. His master, an arrogant Lord from the southern part of the country of Crain, uses Deimos as a means of settling between himself and other lords around the country. Offering the elf as a champion against one of his foes for the amusement of both lords and for the settling of conflict. While neither opponent is allowed to slay the other, Deimos has been wounded many times in the skirmishes he is forced to partake it when not doing other work. However, one trip to the capital may change his life forever.
King Moncrin
Elf
King of the Arvendi and father of four sons, Moncrin rules as the Monarch of the Mountains and defender of the elven race. He is the leader of the remaining Arvendi Tribe, a born gathering of disciplined soldiers and being that bloomed iron loyalty to their cause. He is the arrowhead in the war against the men of Crain as he and his people hold to the belief that they should have returned to them what was stolen during the invasion years before. Having a longer lifespan then the average human allows the King's passionate feelings against men to hold out longer then men's ability to live. This leaves the war long and bloody despite the lifetimes that pass by men's eyes.
Moncrin has, more then most elves, been subjected to the violence and cruelty humankind can display and therefore his elves, who feel the need to stand by their king do not yield. With his sons and wife he grieves with loss known only to a father and the burden of being king weighs heavily over his shoulders.
Prince Kiethren
Elf
Son of the Arvendi King, Kiethren stands as a prince and brother amongst his people. Found amongst the front lines of battle and the beckoning call of duty the prince marks his place with dignity and with a sense of belonging by the common elves. He has a laid back personality, yet takes his tasks to heart and with all of the born seriousness of an elven prince. He has more tolerance for the human race then his father, but is nonetheless wary about them until they earn his trust. Tasked with the defense of his homeland, he seeks that which was lost to his family years ago and employs the help of the human Shielders on his private search. Black haired like his father with the shining emerald eyes of his mother, this young elf will take a grand roll in the Soul Blade Trilogy with the promise of a level-headed soldier and friend.
Princes Mithion and Miklion
Elves
Twin sons of the King and Queen of the Arvendi, both have the darkened hair of their father highlighted with a red tint from their mother. They are constantly seen together and are known for their pranks and willingness to enjoy themselves in any situation. During one of the fiercest battles between the Arvendi and the Crainians that would be named 'Battle of the Lost' they were sent to the Kadipian elves to the south for protection. Their playfulness is blamed on the 'disorderly ways' of the Kadipian Tribe during their stay which quickly attracted the pair to be so foolish. Both were trained in the combat of the traditional Arventi katana just as their brother and father, but picked up the skill of the bow from their Kadipian brethren with a will. They are the youngest of the royal family.
